My Favourite Food and Fitness Blogs

I hear a lot about Netflix-binges and while I pass absolutely no judgement, I just can’t really relate. I’m not sure if TV shows just aren’t my thing or if maybe I’ve never tried watching the right ones. But either way, I do have a little habit that I think is similar and it’s BLOGS. I start on one and the next thing I know three hours have gone by and I’ve clicked my way through dozens and I’m like “whoops… I should probably sleep tonight or something”. It’s like a vortex. Isn’t that what people say about Netflix?!

By no means do I have a checklist when I come across a new-to-me blog but I seem to naturally find myself drawn to some over and over again. When I compiled a quick list of my favourites, I realized that they share a few common traits.

a) They provide me with knowledge, insight or inspiration
b) The bloggers write with personality in such a way that makes me feel like I know them
c) I leave their sites feeling open-minded and uplifted

Without further ado, here are some blogs that I visit on the regular. They all focus on food and/or fitness but are quite different from one another. I hope there are a few that you will love as much as I do!

1. The Real Life RD

This blog just speaks to my soul. Robyn is a Registered Dietitian living in NYC. Besides documenting her crazy delicious-looking eats, she also writes about balance in a way that gives me goosebumps.

2. Hungry Runner Girl

This blog follows the life and training of a stylish marathon-running mama who is HILARIOUS. Her space is positive and packed with running tips. And she is next-level fast so I hang on to every word that comes out of her mouth (keyboard).

3. Peanut Butter Runner

I mentioned this blog in a Friday Faves before but it deserves to be mentioned again. Jen is a yoga teacher and personal trainer and her workouts are SO GOOD. She is also quite the gourmand and I’m a big fan of her recipes and “recent eats” posts, which always leave me with a bunch of ideas.

4. Sally’s Baking Addiction

I’ve mentioned this site before too but I firmly believe that everyone who has any interest in baking should know about it! With a few exceptions, this blog is not the one to go to for healthified recipes. They are old-school butter and white flour types of creations but oh MY are they good. Just go make the cinnamon rolls and thank me later, okay?

5. Pumps & Iron

Workouts, fashion, life, music. Nicole covers a really wide range of topics and I love them all. She just so happens to be 10/10 witty too, as a little added bonus.

This was one of the first blogs that I started reading and I love it today as much as I did years ago. Kath is a Registered Dietitian and I love getting a glimpse of her life (via gorgeous photos) and the salads AND beer that are part of it. I was honoured to guest post on her site in July, which was probably one of the most exiting days of my life. I wish I were joking.

7. Oh She Glows

This can only really be considered the grand finale! I feel like everyone knows about Oh She Glows, but if you don’t then I am so excited for you and the gold mine you have yet to discover! Her vegan recipes are to die for, and while the cookbook is a great purchase, her website basically has enough recipes to last a lifetime.
